Instructor Testimonials

Mark Grainger, Level 2 Instructor

Congratulations on your recent success. I thought I would send you an email regarding my putting instruction. I have a couple of young elite players that have had problems in the past with putting. I started working with them when my season finally got going. Both have made great strides. Alex Carrigan who I spoke to you about in January has become an excellent player (+3). Ball striking has never been an issue. I arrived back in Canada after visiting you and started working on my own technique and getting to know the material better in understanding the structure. I must say this is such a solid method. Easy to understand and teach once you break it down and process in detail. Back to Alex. Streaks of games in the 60's and going low at 65 a couple of times. Alex recently won the National Invitational at The National Club of Canada. Lee Trevino calls this club the toughest in North America. Second playoff hole, 12 foot putt. One of the strongest amateur fields assembled during our season. Q-school is 18 months down the road for Can-Tour. My other player is Rachel Pollock a 16 year old who a couple of tournaments ago had it 4 under late in the tournament due to putting. First time in that spot and made a couple of bogeys coming in but her golf will land a great scholarship in the US. All my club players love this method and are showing signs of improvement with scores dropping. I look forward to level 2 . I played 9 holes last week and I can say everything I stood over I thought I could make. I've never had that feeling before. Now I just have to get some time to play. Teaching 7 days a week to start our summer. I just want to thank you again for the amazing course in January. This is an instructional dream. I have 3 swings I teach and now the best putting method known to golf. Thank you gain and I'll stay in touch. Please pass this on to Harold and the best to you both.

Sincerely

Being part of the HSPSE instructors program has for sure helped my growth as a golf professional. To know that the techniques I am coaching are not only at the forefront of technology but also proven to be the method of choice on the European Tour has really helped my putting instruction.

Being able to work together with Phil Kenyon both in person, via social networking and via the members forum means that my students can be sure they are getting the best advice possible to improve their putting.

For Level 2 instructors the introduction of the HSPSE Education days has added yet another benefit to our program. These days allowed me to extend my network with the other HSPSE pros, comparing case studies from Phils work with tour players and amateurs to those of our own students, this way we can all learn from each others experiences. By challenging yourself to think what you would do with a certain player, then comparing this with the work Phil chose to do can be both a good eye opener but also a huge confidence boost in your own ability to coach putting to an elite player.

The chance to spend a few days with other motivated like-minded pros is not only good for getting new ideas about putting but also helping each other improve ourselves in our business as golf pros. I came away with many ideas about taking my golf school further having discussed what has and hasn't worked for the other guys and how with exchanging information we can help each other into the future.

Arrived in Liverpool on Sunday and I had a great dinner with my colleague Bart van der Wind. This is one of the reasons why I visit the seminars from the HSPSE. To chat with my fellow instructors about the experiences they had last year, having a good learning time and of course, having a beer!

Of course the main goal is learning more about putting instruction. In my opinion there is only one guy to visit, Phil Kenyon.

As we all have worked on the basics and the practical part of putting instruction in the last couple of years, in Level 2 we where asked to do case studies from elite players. To teach them to the best you can, you need tour experience. So getting our knowledge up-to-date will certainly help when working with Elite Players. Phil's experience there is the best I can get.

How do we solve putting issues and then compare it with what Phils approach is. Chatting about these things is similar to learning. It was great to be at the HSPSE Putting Studio.

We were asked to bring over our own case studies to then present them to Phil and the other colleagues. And again, after discussing everything your learn a lot.

This was our main program. We could also bring our questions, problems about putting instruction and talk about that.

Great days and a fantastic learning experience again.

We had two great days in Formby Hall.

Phil did a great job with the case studies and we could ask all our questions.

The discussions we had where great and made me aware of the fact that I saw things as Phil does. That gives me a lot of confidence.

I could also see that we are talking the same language and that is what we want with HSPSE!

Also next time in a nice warm country would be fine, but to see the home of HSPSE is not bad.

“Phil and Michel, I cannot thank you guys enough for exposing us to such a great system and experience. I did not expect to get so much out of this past week until I really sat down and thought about it today on my day off,........ I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone and starting an ongoing relationship with the Harold Swash team. It was great to meet so many different golf coaches and listen to many new ideas that we can all benefit from.  So thanks to all the coaches for sharing information so we can all grow as golf instructors.”

Dear Phil & Michel,
To say your two day course was excellent would be an understatement; I found the material to be both revolutionary and fascinating, the delivery clear and informative and your demeanors were one of utmost commitment to us the students.
You not only made my putting stroke consistent but improved my confidence tremendously. Additionally the drills and aids used were extremely beneficial in honing my stroke. Most importantly, I now have a methodology and knowledge that once imparted on my students will benefit them enormously.
As the game of golf is constantly evolving then so must the approach to and quality of instruction, you, the Harold Swash Putting School of Excellence have doubtlessly achieved this.
I can only look forward to Level II and to seeing you both again, hopefully in Asia!
Yours in golf,
Patrick
