Each Golf Teaching Professional should always be looking out to improve his knowledge.
One who teaches shall never cease to learn!
As a Golf Professional in an increasingly competitive market it is evident that those who are successful have learnt to specialise and separate themselves from the masses. The first step of becoming specialised is acquiring knowledge.
The Harold Swash Putting School of Excellence Accredited Instructor Programme is a market leading educational programme containing world class and tour proven coaching methods and information.
The programme gives the Golf Professionals overall putting specific knowledge and experience and an insight into a proven coaching philosophy and framework that has been implemented at all levels from teaching beginners to tour level coaching.
The ‘Accredited Instructor Programme’ has been established since 2006 and has been conducted across Europe, Asia and Australasia. It is authorized by the British PGA, Australian PGA and the European PGA in qualifying for CDP points.
The programme overview
The programme is delivered through a combination of theory and practically based seminars that will improve the coaches putting specific knowledge and coaching application.
Level 1 programme
• 2 day programme
• Intro to Harold Swash Coaching Philosophy
• Practical and Theory modules
• Custom Fitting Programme
• Accredited Upon Completion
The goal of the ‘Level 1 Programme’ is to establish the basic fundamentals required for consistent and accurate putting. This understanding allows the basis to discuss the main principles and preferences encouraged in our day to day coaching
The programme covers technical information, putting lesson structure and analysis, and putter custom fitting procedures for short, belly and long putters.
Level 2 programme
Pre-requisite: Completed Level 1 programme required + 1 year teaching experience
• 2 day programme and provision of case studies
• Advanced Coaching and methodology
• Accredited Upon completion
• Case study completion required for continual development
• Live Lesson Assessment
With a one year gap requested before completing level two the aim of the programme is to build on the knowledge of the Level 1 programme and the experience gained post attendance.
The Level 2 programme further investigates technical issues when working with more developed players and addresses the issue of ‘Cause & Effect’.
Taking the information and knowledge gleaned from the Level 1 programme, Level 2 develops an understanding of how best to create putting solutions for the individual and suggest the correct intervention based upon the players own development and tendencies.
Level 2 is delivered through a combination of theory sessions, tour player case studies and interactive live lessons. All participants will deliver a live lesson to a guest student, offering a chance for direct feedback on lessons structure and technical knowledge.
Further Educational Modules
Pre-requisite: Completed Level 2 programme required + 1 year teaching experience
• 2 day programme
• Introduction of new themes and topics
• Case study presentation by each participant
The further educational days are for golf coaches that want to continuously add in-depth knowledge and experience to their coaching. Several topics coming from the instructors’ wish list will be discussed on the 2 day course. It is also a very good way on exchanging teaching experience for the coaches.
